We recommend that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services provide the results of the analyses to QIOs and Medicare Program Integrity contractors so that they can conduct targeted claim reviews to identify patterns of unreported incidents of potential abuse or neglect and the reasons the incidents were unreported.
