During our unannounced inspection of Krome North Service Processing Center (Krome) in Miami, Florida, we found that Krome’s staff complied with Performance-Based National Detention Standards 2011, as revised in December 2016, for classification, voluntary work program, recreation, facility conditions, and non-medical grievances. However, they did not comply with use of force standards for several incidents.
This Office of Inspector General (OIG) Comprehensive Healthcare Inspection Program report describes the results of a focused evaluation of the quality of care delivered in the inpatient and outpatient settings of the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center in Alabama. This evaluation focused on five key operational areas:• Leadership and organizational risks• Quality, safety, and value• Medical staff privileging• Environment of care• Mental health (suicide prevention initiatives)The OIG issued two recommendations for improvement in two areas:1.
