  Memphis, TN – Ollie Stephenson, 55, of Germantown, Tennessee, has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for submitting false documents to the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS).

BOSTON – A Dominican national pleaded guilty yesterday in federal court in Boston in connection with misusing another individual’s Social Security number to receive housing and unemployment benefits.  Ramon Hiciano, 59, formerly of Roxbury, pleaded guilty to false representation of a Social Security number and theft of government money. U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin scheduled sentencing for Oct. 7, 2021. Hiciano was charged in October 2020.

Baltimore, Maryland – A criminal complaint has been filed charging Patrick Nwaokwu, age 50, of Laurel, Maryland; Musa Bangura, age 62, of Manassas, Virginia; and Johanah Napoleon, age 45, of Wellington, Florida with conspiracy to commit health care fraud, conspiracy to commit false statements relating to health care matters, and false statements to health care matters, in connection with a scheme to produce and sell fraudulent nursing transcripts and diplomas.

PORTLAND, Maine— Two Lewiston men were sentenced today in U.S District Court in Portland for health care fraud, Acting U.S. Attorney Donald E. Clark announced. U.S. District Judge Jon D. Levy sentenced Abdirashid Ahmed, 41, to two years in prison and three years of supervised release, and Garat Osman, 35, to three years of probation. Judge Levy also ordered Ahmed to pay $1,863,264.83 and Osman to pay $544,097.78 in restitution to MaineCare. Both men pleaded guilty in May 2019.

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Christopher G. Hickerson, 47, a Fleming County Magistrate and farmer, was sentenced to 66 months in federal prison Wednesday, by U.S. District Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove, for conspiracy to commit crop insurance fraud and tax fraud.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – A Senior Executive Service (SES) employee of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was sentenced today to 18 months in prison for submitting fraudulent applications for over $350,000 in COVID-19 economic relief loans and benefits.

ABINGDON, Va. – A Wise County, Virginia man, who conspired with others to file for fraudulent pandemic unemployment benefits, was sentenced today to 87 months in prison for conspiring to defraud the United States and conspiring to commit mail fraud. According to court documents, Travis Kilgore, 34, defrauded the government of more than $182,474 in pandemic unemployment benefits beginning in May 2020. Kilgore was also ordered to pay $164,470 in restitution.  The government previously recouped $18,004.

Acting U.S. Attorney Bridget M. Brennan announced that a Kirtland couple was sentenced by U.S. Judge Christopher A. Boyko to 18 months imprisonment after both pleaded guilty to bribery of a former city of Cleveland demolition official.  Joseph Tucceri, III, 75, and Gwen Tucceri, 61, were both sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, two years of supervised release and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $114,422 to the IRS.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Susan K. Harris, 74, and William S. Harris, 60, both of Albuquerque, were sentenced today in federal court for conspiracy  to defraud the United States and other financial crimes committed in connection with the operation of Ayudando Guardians, Inc., a non-profit corporation that previously provided guardianship, conservatorship and financial management to hundreds of people with special needs.
