The Executive for Research Services and Executive for Legislative Archives, Presidential Libraries, and Museum Services should ensure initial inspections of SPHs inventory are completed.

The Executive for Research Services and Executive for Legislative Archives, Presidential Libraries, and Museum Services should ensure custodial units are in compliance with NARA 1572, including randomly inspecting at least 3% of SPHs inventory annually on a rotating basis and using one individual that does not work for the individual responsible for the inspection.

The Executive for Research Services and Executive for Legislative Archives, Presidential Libraries, and Museum Services should ensure annual inspection reports include at a minimum date of inspection, individuals that complete the inspections, and a listing of items inspected, including their location and physical condition.

The Office of Programs should implement controls to ensure compliance with agency regulations related to service months credited from an injury settlement. At a minimum, the agency should require railroad employers to submit supporting documentation for any service and compensation reported as part of an injury settlement. The documentation should include both the legal settlement and an allocation worksheet. This documentation should be readily available for examination and periodically reviewed.

Rec. B: The DoD OIG recommended that the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, coordinate with the appropriate Department of State office to update the 2003 Memorandum of Understanding to reflect DoD policy and requirements with the Force Protection Detachment program and the Embassy's Country Team environment.

Rec. 1: The DoD OIG recommended that the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics establish DoD dam safety inspection policy that is in accordance with the Federal Guidelines for Dam Safety, which define inspection frequency, scope, and inspector qualifications and outline the need to develop and maintain inspection support documentation.
