We recommend that the EAC address and resolve the following recommendations that the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office: (a) Deposit adequate matching funds into the election fund to satisfy the $2,666,577 in questioned costs. This amount may consider the analysis provided by the Office as a reduction of $1,811,088 of the required $2,666,577. (b) Calculate the amount of interest to transfer to the election fund for the untimely deposit of matching funds. This calculation should consider the period from the date the requirements payments were received through the date the matching requirement was met and include any compound interest through the date of the transfer. The amount determined should be transferred into the election fund.
