What to Report to the OIG Hotline:

If you know about fraud, waste, abuse, misconduct, or gross waste of funds relating to a Corporation of Public Broadcasting officer or employee, program, contract, or grant, you may report it to the CPB OIG Hotline. The CPB OIG has jurisdiction over:

• fraud, waste, and mismanagement concerns with CPB internal operations, employees, and contractors;
• CPB funds distributed to over 500 TV and radio licensees and producers of programming;
• compliance with certain elements of the Communications Act that apply to recipients of CPB funds (advance notice of meetings, open
financial records, available EEO reports, protection of donor information, and operation of Community Advisory Boards); and
• allegations of whistleblower retaliation against CPB employees.

What Not to report to the OIG Hotline :

The following matters are not generally reviewed or investigated by CPB OIG:

• complaints about the content of what is broadcast on public television or public radio;
• complaints about bias in a public media broadcast program;
• EEO complaints or employment disputes at individual stations or content producers. (Such matters may be covered by local, state or federal EEO law); and
• matters within FCC jurisdiction such as granting or renewing licenses to stations or complaints about cable or internet providers.
