22 people charged in connection with a multi-million dollar Paycheck Protection Program fraud scheme

ATLANTA – Twenty-two individuals, residing across the United States, have been charged with wire fraud conspiracy and other related charges in connection with a fraudulent scheme to obtain approximately $3,899,377 in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans.

Las Vegas Woman Sentenced To Prison For Stealing Social Security Benefits

LAS VEGAS – A Las Vegas woman was sentenced today to one year and one day in prison for using her late husband’s identity to steal over $40,000 in Social Security benefits while on supervised release for a prior crime.

Florence Faamaligi Levao (71) pleaded guilty in July 2021, to one count of theft of government funds. In addition to the term of imprisonment, U.S. District Judge Andrew P. Gordon sentenced Faamaligi Levao to three years of supervised release. Faamaligi Levao was also ordered to pay restitution.

North Carolina Psychologist Sentenced for Medicaid Fraud Scheme Involving Minors

RICHMOND, Va. – A Durham, North Carolina, clinical psychologist was sentenced today to 52 months in prison for defrauding Virginia Medicaid of at least $544,067.69 by creating false diagnoses and medical records for Medicaid recipients, mostly minors, and falsely representing to Medicaid that he was providing them mental health services.

Lynn Woman Indicted for Stealing Social Security Benefits

BOSTON – A Lynn woman was arrested today for allegedly stealing over $50,000 in Social Security benefits.   

Teresa M. Carrington, 64, was charged with one count of theft of public funds. Carrington was released on conditions following an initial appearance before U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Judith G. Dein in federal court in Boston this afternoon.

According to the indictment, from June 2016 through January 2020, Carrington stole at least $50,210 in Social Security benefits.
