CINCINNATI – The former bookkeeper of My Sister’s House, a now-shuttered domestic violence shelter in Washington Court House, Ohio, was sentenced in U.S. District Court today to 12 months in prison for crimes related to stealing funds from the shelter.   Jaime Cardinal, 46, of Washington Court House, was arrested in July 2020.

NEWARK, N.J. – Newark Housing Authority (NHA)’s former director of information technology was sentenced today to 24 months in prison for using his position to embezzle NHA funds to purchase cellular telephones and other electronic devices, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.

CAMDEN, N.J. – A manager for a drug trafficking organization that purchased over 100 kilograms of cocaine in Puerto Rico and shipped the kilograms to residences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey today admitted his role in the conspiracy, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.

BOSTON – A Lawrence man was sentenced today in federal court in Boston for misusing a Social Security number to fraudulently obtain a Massachusetts ID and driver’s license as well as MassHealth benefits.  Manuel Alejandro Pujols Diaz, 37, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton to 25 months in prison. On May 16, 2022, Pujols pleaded guilty to one count of false representation of a Social Security number and one count of aggravated identity theft.

PITTSBURGH - One resident of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of Social Security fraud, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced today. Michael T. Onder, 53, of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Robert J. Colville.

PHILADELPHIA – United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced that Steven Kish, 66, of Philadelphia, PA, was sentenced to three years in prison, three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay $259,019 in forfeiture and $353,488 in restitution by United States District Court Judge C. Darnell Jones. Defendant Kish was the most prolific of the numerous SEPTA managers who participated in a scheme to defraud SEPTA of approximately $900,000.
