To ensure that the police department is efficiently and effectively meeting the company’s needs and addressing its risks, we recommend that the Chief Administrative Officer coordinate with the Executive Leadership Team - which also represents the Chief Executive Officer’s input - the security steering committee, and APD leadership to take the following actions: 1. Prior to completing APD’s strategic plan, reach a consensus on the full scope of APD’s role and priorities, and then formalize those decisions.
